I would like to take a moment to share my inspiration for breeding Keeshonden and a bit about myself.

My name is Jodi Erbe, owner of ERBEKEES Keeshonden, a small, dedicated Keeshond breeder in Tennessee focused on exceptional health, temperament, and quality.

We relocated to Fayetteville, Tennessee in June 2016 to expand our growing kennel. We wanted a more customized space for our dogs and puppies, and in the fall of 2020 we added a brand‑new facility designed specifically for responsible Keeshond breeding. Our adult dogs enjoy spacious indoor and outdoor areas, and our nursery—located directly off our home—provides a safe, warm environment for moms and babies. We also expanded our outdoor yards and added a covered kennel for poor weather. I am excited to continue improving our program and introducing new, carefully selected breeding dogs over the next several years. You can always find updated photos and information about our current and upcoming Keeshond breeding dogs on our website.

Fayetteville is nestled in Southern Middle Tennessee, surrounded by farmland and horse ranches. We enjoy peaceful country living while still being close to Nashville, TN and Huntsville, AL—both about an hour away.

My lifelong love of animals began in childhood, growing up with cattle, horses, chickens, geese, pigs, goats, and many different dog breeds. That upbringing shaped my passion for animals and ultimately led to my deep love for the Keeshond breed. After a lifetime of being surrounded by animals, becoming a Keeshond breeder felt like a natural path.

My journey began with my first Keeshond, Keeffer, whom I purchased as a Christmas gift for my young boys in 1991. I didn’t know the breed at the time, but his adorable looks, loving personality, and devotion to family captured our hearts instantly. He inspired my lifelong dedication to this breed, and I have owned only Keeshonden ever since.

My goal in breeding Keeshonden has always been to produce healthy, well‑socialized, top‑quality puppies from thoroughly health‑tested parents. Over the years, I’ve learned that breeders generally fall into two categories: companion breeders and show breeders. While some companion breeders do a good job, many breed untested or average Keeshonden without proper genetic screening. Some claim to have health‑tested parents, yet provide no proof on OFA.

I have always believed in striving for excellence, and that includes my breeding program. I carefully select high‑quality Keeshonden from strong show lines and complete all recommended OFA health testing at the appropriate ages. All results are publicly available on the OFA website. None of my dogs are used for breeding unless they pass all required health tests.

I have always been drawn to the beauty and structure of the “Show Kees,” yet it can be difficult to find this quality from breeders who focus only on companionship. My mission is to bring show‑quality Keeshonden—with generations of health testing—to families who want exceptional quality, beauty, and sound genetics, even if they are not looking for a show dog.

Breeding Keeshonden has been incredibly fulfilling. I have met wonderful families and maintain long‑term relationships with many of my clients. Several have returned for a second or even third ERBEKEES puppy.

I am always available for guidance, support, or simply a friendly conversation with anyone who has one of my puppies—and even those who don’t.

I will always take back any of my puppies at any time if life circumstances change and you can no longer keep your Keeshond. Because of this commitment, I occasionally have adult Keeshonden available for placement. If you are interested in an older Keeshond or a retiring female, please email me and I will notify you when one becomes available.

I am forever committed to the dogs I bring into this world.
